Hey! I’m Carmen Lucia and I am a voice, piano, and songwriting teacher at Resonate Music School & Studio. Born and raised in the small town of Bonnyville (AB), I grew up in a musical family with a wide range of musical tastes; country, blues, r&b/soul, pop, dance, rap/hip-hop, rock; which are all part of my influences to this day. I taught myself some of the basics on piano (scales & chords) and began songwriting at 14 years old. After graduating, I moved to Edmonton to attend the Grant MacEwan University Music Program which focuses on Jazz & Contemporary Popular Music. I completed the program with two diplomas: one majoring in Vocal Performance and one majoring in Composition.

I’ve been performing in and around the Edmonton area for about 10 years now. I have released 2 albums so far, with many more original songs to be recorded and released. My EP “Seasons” was released in 2012, as part of a project in University. May 27, 2017 I released a full length album, “Love Louder” (available online as well).

Music has always been such an important part of my life and teaching is my way of giving back to it. So, whether you want to play on a stage, or just sing in your car, I’m excited to get started with you!
