Hello! My name is Mike Chenoweth and I am a veteran teacher, performer, songwriter and recording artist and I have many years of experience teaching guitar, bass guitar, harmonica and ukulele.
Over my performing career I have been a band leader on stages large and small ranging from cafes and coffee shops to “soft-seater” concerts and festivals. I have composed, recorded and released two all-original cd’s with the first receiving national distribution. Many of my songs have been heard on local and national radio. I have also composed and recorded a movie soundtrack and have been a guest artist on a number of other artist’s recordings. Currently I am putting the finishing touches on a harmonica instructional book which I am writing and am looking forward to publishing in the near future.
Through my years of experience I have come to know that each student has a preferred method of learning that is as unique as they are. I believe that the mark of a good teacher is in having the ability to find many ways to introduce or explain any idea or concept. For these reasons I can adapt and custom-tailor my lesson plans to suit each student based on my assessment of their skill level, goals, general knowledge and preferred method of learning. I am well-versed in rock, country, metal, pop, folk, blues, and Rn’B. Over my career I have taught students of all ages and skill levels ranging from age five to seniors. I am quite comfortable in helping anyone achieve their musical goals. My approach is very relaxed and I like to keep the mood light and fun during lessons. Whether you are an outright beginner of any age, want to learn to strum campfire songs, are an established live performer/songwriter or need help preparing for college or university I can help. Let’s get you started!
