Hello!
I Am Ben Oomen and I am an Edmonton-based actor/singer/performer. As a graduate of MacEwan University’s Theatre Arts program (2017), I have studied voice under the guidance of David Wilson, Dawn Sadoway, Elaine Dunbar, and Ron Long. I have also studied multiple forms of guitar, with a special focus on performance with electric guitar, as well as classical guitar training from Carl Lotsberg.
I have worked professionally as an actor (specializing in Musical Theatre) across Alberta, as well as performing in many rock-based groups over the years. I have opened for classic rock bands such as Canada’s own ‘Prism’, and played in venues and festivals ranging from the Beaumont Blues & Roots Festival to Klondike Days, as well as the former Edmonton Oilers Stadium, Rexall Place. I have music directed, most recently working on a production of ‘Disney’s Newsies’, and also sing in a competitive choir, giving me lots of vocal ensemble experience!
Music and performing mean a lot to me, and I am so happy to be in a workplace where I can pass down that knowledge to our future performers, actors, and singers!
