Charissa Kangudie

Hello there! I’m Charissa and I teach piano performance and theory at Resonate Music School & Studio.

I’ve had a lot of fun teaching piano around the world on 4 different continents and making great music on everything from 10foot concert grands to a pair of flip-flops. I enjoy performing classical, traditional, and modern repertoire and always give my students the option to try different kinds of repertoire while developing new skill sets.  My students are my inspiration and I’m always searching for the next creative way to make music make sense.

My grandmother was my first piano teacher and she taught me many important things, not the least of which is that prizes and cookies really help with the whole practicing thing. I was educated in the classical music world with great teachers and fellow students who pushed and inspired me all the way to provincial competitions. I completed my A.R.C.T. degree in piano performance as well as studies in theory, performance, and pedagogy at university. Since then, I’ve enjoyed performing with dance studios, choirs, individual soloists, and chamber groups, as well as providing pro bono services for many community groups and development projects.

I’m happy that you’ve chosen to explore this adventure of music and look forward toworking with you!
