Hi! My name is Rachel Matichuk and I teach Voice and Piano.
Growing up in piano lessons, I have had a passion for music for as long as I can remember. However, it wasn’t until I was about 14 years old that I discovered my love for singing, when my band teacher suggested that I try. That small push led to me studying Theatre Arts at Macewan University.
Although I am trained in jazz and theatre, I enjoy all types of music and love singing many different styles. In my spare time, you can find me singing anything from Pop to Ukrainian Folk music. I encourage all of my students to sing what they connect with — regardless of style or language.
I strongly believe that it is never too late to try something new. In our lessons I will focus on helping you cultivate the skills and techniques needed to feel confident in your talents. With a background in childcare, I take the influence I have as an educator very seriously – I constantly strive to provide an inspiring, safe, and welcoming atmosphere.
