Hello! My name is Mike Chenoweth. At Resonate Music School And Studio, I am a veteran teacher of guitar, bass guitar, harmonica, djembe and ukulele.
My depth of teaching experience includes eight years at Resonate Music School And Studio as well as five years at Edmonton Music Studios. I have previously been hired to present a number of group-lesson sessions at Metro Continuing Education and Central Lions Seniors Center. I have also presented seminars and clinics at J. Percy Page High School and Victoria School Of The Arts. I have a good amount of experience instructing students of various levels on the Autism spectrum. I also possess the ability to teach individual lessons on line, utilizing several platforms.
Over my prolonged teaching career, I have come to know that each student has a preferred method of learning that is as unique as they are. I believe the mark of a good teacher is in having the ability to find many different methods to introduce or explain any idea or concept. For these reasons, I adapt and custom-tailor my lesson plans to suit each student based on my assessment of their skill level, goals, general knowledge and preferred method of learning.
I am well-versed in the genres of Rock, Country, Metal, Pop, Funk, Folk (including Finger Style), Blues and Rn’B.
Over my career I have taught students of all ages and skill levels ranging from age five to seniors. I am quite comfortable in helping anyone achieve their musical goals. My approach is very relaxed and I like to keep the mood light and fun during lessons.
Whether you are an outright beginner of any age, have a desire to learn to strum campfire songs, you are an established live performer/songwriter or you need help preparing for college or university. Utilizing the depth of experience and knowledge I have gained over many years in teaching students of all ages and skill levels, I’m here to help you achieve your musical goals!
