ED SHEERAN MAKES SURPRISE APPEARANCE AT PLAY FOR PETS CONCERT!!
Let’s all just take a second to process what happened at this year’s Play for Pets Fundraiser Concert for the Edmonton Humane Society. Umm… ED SHEERAN?!
I think we can all agree that this event has been the craziest one we’ve had yet!
In case you weren’t there, during our annual Play for Pets performance at West Edmonton Mall, our very own student Sydney Bourbeau was doing a stellar job of Ed Sheeran’s hit song “Singing Out Loud” when Ed Sheeran himself made a surprise appearance! It turns out Ed was nearby at HMV, heard Sydney’s performance, and decided to make it a duet!
Check out some of the action here:
News Outlets from all over the world covered the story:
The Globe & Mail: http://www.theglobeandmail.com/arts/music/ed-sheeran-gives-edmonton-teen-a-surprise-duet-at-mall-performance/article24976630/
BBC: http://www.bbc.com/news/entertainment-arts-33141206
Needless to say, it went viral. So much so, that it was trending above the Stanley Cup finals! The following few days were a whirlwind for Sydney and her family with interviews, TV appearances, and even free tickets to Ed’s concert.
We couldn’t have hoped for a more exciting surprise, especially during this fundraiser that is so near and dear to our hearts! We’d like to give a massive THANK YOU to Ed Sheeran for giving us the surprise of our lives, THANK YOU to Sydney for being so brave, and THANK YOU to all the performers for being courageous and participating in the event.
