Group Lessons

Music belongs in their lives from the start.

Two programs for kids ages 2 to 5. Singing, movement, instruments to try. Songs that get sung at home for weeks after class, and a foundation that makes private lessons later feel like an easy next step.

The work is play.

Music, scaled to what a small child can hold. Rhythm games that look like games and are also rhythm. Voices used together. Instruments small enough for a two-year-old to actually use. Movement that gets the timing into the body before the body is sure what timing is.

Two programs

Tunes & Tots and Junior Jammers.

Both run as 45-minute classes on Saturday mornings, in 12-week sessions through the school year. Junior Jammers also runs a shorter summer intro session.

Tunes & Tots

Ages 2 and 3 · Parent in the room

The first time music shows up as a shared thing, with other small people doing it too. Parents stay in the room and learn the songs alongside their kids, which means the same songs end up getting sung at home for weeks. Each class follows a routine the children come to anticipate.

Junior Jammers

Ages 4 and 5 · Independent (parents welcome to watch)

A music class for kids who are ready to do it themselves. Singing in a group. Trying instruments without committing to any of them yet. Reading and clapping rhythms. The kind of thing that makes a first private lesson at six or seven feel like an obvious continuation.

Curriculum

A curriculum we built ourselves.

Developed in-house by practitioners with years of teaching across the major early-childhood music programs – Kindermusik among them. The curriculum is shaped around the actual room these classes happen in and the families who come through.

Six phases. Songs and pacing that change as cohorts move through them. Instruments adapted to what these particular kids respond to. It evolves when there is a reason for it to.
