Hi! My name is Ethan, and I teach Piano, Guitar, and Bass at Resonate Music School and Studio. I am currently working towards a Bachelor of Music in Percussion Performance at the University of Alberta. My musical journey has been very diverse so far. The majority of my musical knowledge has come from Resonate, where I started learning when they had just opened! I have taken piano, guitar, bass, drums, harmonica, and digital music production lessons here at Resonate, but during Junior High and High School I began exploring classical style percussion in concert band- which is what I am pursuing in post secondary. I am now well versed in many genres of music, from classic rock to modern jazz to R&B and Funk, while performing across Alberta as a pianist in an 50s, 60s, and 70s tribute band.
I understand the many different ways a student can learn music, and tailor everything in my lessons to their benefit. I believe that exposure to a variety of music is just as beneficial as learning technique or theory, so I strive to not only build a student’s skills but nurture their musicality. Music has been a massive part of me for all of my life, and I hope to impart a piece of my love of music to each and every one of my students.
